Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German actress on television and film famous for her performance in movies such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Being the sole daughter of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu. Alexandra began her professional career in showbiz early. Her roles included lead characters in dramas on television as young at the age of 16. Her critically acclaimed role in the television film Der Tunnel paved way for other notable roles including that of Secretary to Adolf Hitler Traudl Junge, in the critically and commercially successful Oscar nominated historical war drama film Downfall. Other Oscar nominated films featuring the diva include The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra is well known for her involvement in many important projects in both the US as well as internationally. Among others, these projects comprise British Biographical Film Control Greek Drama film The Dust of Time French Historical Miniseries Napoleon and many others. She was also an official juror for the Transylvania International Film Festival as and the Cannes Film Festival.
